What is IPTV ?

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is a technology that delivers TV content over the internet instead of through traditional methods such as satellite or cable television. Instead of receiving TV signals via radio frequencies or satellite waves, the internet protocol (IP) is used to stream video content directly to devices such as TVs, computers, smartphones, and other devices.

There are three main types of IPTV services:

  1. Live TV: This is a live streaming of TV channels that are usually seen on traditional TV. The user can watch live broadcasts of sports, news, and other programs in real time.
  2. On-demand (VOD): The user can select and watch TV shows, movies, or other content whenever they want. This is similar to services like Netflix or YouTube, where the content is available on demand.
  3. Time-shifted TVs: This feature allows users to pause, rewind, and record TV programs so that they can watch them at a later time.

Benefits of IPTV include flexibility, as it allows users to choose when and what they want to watch, as well as the ability to use multiple devices. The downside may be that it requires a stable and fast internet connection to have a good user experience.
